JFK was born in Brookline ,Massachusetts on May 29 1917. He went to Harvard University and then join the US Navy in 1941.On one of his patrols Kennedy's boat was rammed by a Japanese Destroyer called Amagri. He gathered his men together and swam to an island while towing a badly burned crewman with his life jacket holding it with his teeth. For these actions he earned the Navy and Marine corps medal. In the early 1945s he was honorably discharged from the Navy thus ending his career in the Navy.


          Kennedy's Older Brother was the one in the family who was supposed to be in politics but he was killed in World War 2 . When James Michael Curley vacated his seat to become a mayor in Boston Kennedy ran for the seat and he won. then in 1952 he ran and made US Senate.  In July 1960 he was nominated for the democratic nominee for president. In September and October he had debates against the Republican Candidate Richard Nixon and they helped him to pull ahead in the poles. On November 8 he won the national vote by .2% and the electoral collage 303 to 219.  JFK was sworn as the 35th president on January 20 1961. He was the youngest and first Catholic President to ever be elected.
